Founded by Diversity, Equity and Inclusion specialist Bruna Douek, Angelou was named after Maya Angelou. Deceased in 2014, Maya dedicated her life to the arts and activism. Her words still echo globally in messages that preach comprehension, union and empowerment. Her teachings guide our activities, always dedicated to educating any audience on diversity valuing, inclusion, equity and human rights.
Curiosity: Angelou's brand logo was designed specifically as an homage to Maya, who frequently wore turbans, a symbol of black culture.
